I agree with Almost-Human, a wider DOF is needed in this one, some of your bug is in shap focus but the closest parts aren't. The image is fantastic beuaitful colors and macro... DOF can be hard with macro shots... BUt this is still a beautiful shot.. +9

How bizarre... extremely powerful colors. I love it! It's FANTASTIC!

he he... u use very good lens - it's prop. best for D70 espec. for macro... some peoples use this for portraits... anyway, if u use such a precise lens especialy with such open aperture u must be special carefull on focusing point - this is a example accident. unfocused shot... as i can suppose u set a focus and little move a body to front... maybe it's not really speed lens in focusing but u can lock him for short dist. and use a AF-C... in Your Nikon can help U make a more focused objects like this one... by the way good it will be nice shot !!!

I love the background but as Andrzej has said, the focus was a bit forward of the Ladybug.A larger aperture value would help. Of course if the bug was moving, doing so would cause problems with the slower shutter speed. Macro can be so difficult. Often we must decide on where best to place a focal point to achieve an attractive photo. With insects we often don't have much time to decide.
